Funding Crisis

This page includes draft maps showing lost service in March 2011 (grey), proposed service reductions in September(red), and the service that will be retained (blue). It also shows the potential adjustment in the ACCESS ADA boundary as a result of reducing the ADA boundary to the legally required 3/4 mile within and operting fixed route. Please click a link below to access the PDF file showing maps showing the service impact in the senate and house districts.

Please visit the Pennsylvania Senate Website to find your legislator's contact information. This site includes information for both the House and Senate. Also visit Governor Corbett's webpage to contact him and voice your concern over transit funding.

National Transit Database Statistics for the 100 largest Urban Areas

This table shows high-level transit statistics of the 100 largest "Urbanized Zone Areas" (see wikipedia definition). The statistics are from the 2010 National Transit Database where 600+ transit agencies provide annual reports of service supply and consumption. Notice how the Pittsburgh Region (Highlighted) had average transit density both in terms of vehicle hours per capita and vehicle hours per square mile. This data was collected prior to the March 2011 cuts.
